threadless is having a sale! i love me some threadless. i bought a t-shirt for 10 bucks. and i love it so.
peru was good. we stayed in lima for three days. ate a lot. went to cuzco. stayed in the sacred valley. visited loads of ruins, including macchu picchu. i only suffered from 10 bug bites and one skinned knee, which i considered a success.
this weekend, i am up to see my BIL graduate from high school. he's going on a roadtrip to the shenandoah valley and the blue ridge mountains. he'll stop on his way back in dc and i will cityfy him for a few days.
S and i are thinking of spending our anniversary in va beach. we're not actually going on our anniversary weekend though. why? because our anniversary weekend, for the second year in a row, is the only weekend we can get our kid and my SIL's kid together for... camping.
i bloody hate camping. unless we're camping in a hotel. and then i'm fine with camping.
camping fills me with full.of.hate. mainly because S will be retarded. and i won't get enough sleepy. and i will be cranky. heat + cranky = bad situation.Feeling:  crushed |

apple gooood. why? because their charger is 110 - 240v. yes. reloading of music while out of the country is good.
nintendo. not so good. only 110. need a converter. grrr. considering that i will a good chunk of time to dedicate to it, yes, i would like to.

so, friday. went out to g-town for drinks with the cousins. saturday, got up and met rock and ... damn, need a code name for her... erm... and critical and teach for some museum cruising. had lunch at jaleo. then hopped in the beetle and drove to see my parental in laws to hear about their trip to the grand canyon. sunday, i got a driving lesson and a 'i'm gonna die' in a bicycle lesson. first attempt, didn't go well. second attempt, wrecked my BIL's bike by severely damaging the back wheel. third attempt is liable to KILL me. i've since decided that bicycles are fiendish devices and i must have nothing to do with them. since they all seem hellbent on going really fast and smashing againt fence posts. i think steering is just an illusion to get on the unholy mechanism. i have bruises, but at least i'm mobile.
lesson: don't try to learn how to ride a bicycle a week before leaving to go to a foreign country. i have bruises on my behind, and i kinda need it to survive the 6+ hour flight.
lesson #2: husband not so smart. does not know everything.

i have now DOUBLED my sneaker collection. how? my stepson, codename: C, well, his feet are grown. so he can wear my sneaks now. and i can wear his. this means, instead of buying him shoes at target, i'm gonna score him a pair of vans. yup. that way, he can stop stealing my pumas.
needless to say, it was kinda cute and kinda disturbing.
and yes, i have little feet.
in other news, i'm breaking in a new pair of high heeled brown shoes. not as comfortable as sneakers. at least, not yet. i doubt they ever will be. i need to work at a place where i can wear sneaks all day.... sounds suspiciously like retirement.

fair mundane. life is good. in a couple of weeks, i will be in omaha drinking it up on st. paddy's day and probably getting hung over and remembering i am no longer an invincible college student, but a working class adult that can't remember what drinking 24/7 is like. ah, my youth seems so far away these days.
gotten together with friends. it's been good.
got a new mattress. that's been great for both my energy levels and my back.
in may, i'll be in peru. very excited mainly because most of the trip (about 80%) has already been paid for, so that's a load off my mind.
oooh! bought new shoes. a new pair of sneaks, which i desperately needed. a cute pair of black shoes, not so high heeled, which i also desperately needed. a cute pair of brown shoes, which i probably would have desperately needed in the future. the sneaks make me happy. they're running shoes and ubercomfy.
now, if someone could only explain why i can breeze through the sudoku medium and hard puzzles on the washington express, but get stumped by an easy, i think i'd be absolutely peachy.
damn monkey wrenches.

so..
went to the udvar-hazy museum yesterday with the munchkin. very cool. i had never been and it was very interesting, despite my almost apathetic interest in most engineeering marvels. the worst part about it? the other children. it made me appreciate the munchkin so much more though. and what is up with not letting your little girl wash her hair or comb it? WTF?
also, some children should be air-dropped into a third world country for a couple of weeks so they can appreciate what they have and stop being such whiny little brats.
oh, and still no wii. we got a dvd player for the tv, but no wii. who do i have to kill to get a wii?
currently reading "codex alera" by jim butcher. full of good stuff.
